The Bible is a book of wisdom for life. In fact, one Biblical author wrote these words:

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2
Through these words, God promises blessings to the one who will meditate on the Bible. And the Bible is full of teachings on money. If you desire financial wisdom, there is no better place to start than the Word of God.The Bible has much to say on the topic of money. But we want to highlight a few important principles which may be helpful to you today.

Principle 1: Love God and People, Not Money

“Money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
Well, that is how many people misquote a teaching from the Bible. Let’s look at the scripture and see what it really says.
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” 1 Timothy 6:10a

Many believe money itself is evil. The truth is, the love of money is what we need to be concerned about.

Do you love money? Is money more important to you than people? Is your time consumed with thoughts about money? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, take some time to reflect. Why do you care so much about money, and what are you going to do to change?
